Durrës, Lezha and Berat regions have been targeted for in-depth interventions in the second implementation year (March 2022 – February 2023) of the project "Shkollat për Shëndetin". Campaigns for health promotion had a positive impact on children’s, parents', and teachers' perceptions of choosing a healthy lifestyle. All activities during health promotion campaigns encourage communication between professionals and communities. Through onsite interventions in selected regions, about 13,000 children have benefited. Children took part in planning food fairs, raised awareness about the importance of a healthy diet, and engaged in activities that promoted a clean and safe environment.

Overall, results from the health promotion campaigns improved nutrition-related behaviours among children (regular breakfast consumption and daily consumption of at least 3 portions of fruit/vegetables), increased the frequency of engagement in physical activity, increased the prevalence of tooth brushing, increased good hygiene and increased the frequency of engagement in environmental protection. Furthermore, the level of health literacy among children has increased in terms of their understanding of their rights to quality healthcare, access to healthcare, and health protection.
As a result of the project activities, 94% (of which, 52% were girls and 39% lived in rural areas) of participants stated they had gained new knowledge with the health promotion initiatives and project activities on healthy lifestyle practices (healthy nutrition, physical activity, personal hygiene, and environmental protection).
