The project has prepared seven training modules for teachers, school staff and school nurses. The modules cover topics related to: healthy eating, physical activity, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, hygiene and environmental protection, training module for biology teachers and for teachers of physical activity, sports and health. The training modules are currently under accreditation process by the CATM and have passed the first accreditation stage.

In any case, the training of teachers and health staff has continued during the first year of project implementation. The trained teachers will gain their credits at the moment that the modules are accredited by the MoES.

Furthermore, the training of 153 teachers (40 men and 113 women) consisted on the first five training modules prepared:

1. Healthy eating

2. The importance of physical activity and mental health among school age children 6-16 years old

3. Promotion of importance of mental health among school age children 6-16 years old.

4. Inclusive sexual reproductive health

5. Personal hygiene, preventive of infective diseases among school age children 6-16 years old and environmental protection

On top of that, 44 health promotion specialists including school health staff of the three regions were trained on the Icelandic Model of Health Promotion.

Moreover, cooking activities for adults included 218 school staff (98 men and 120 women) who prepared their healthy meals in school environments. The school staff engaged to continue these activities and organize cooking classes with children in their respective subjects.
