During the first year of the project implementation several digital (online) applications for children, school staff and parents were developed:

  • “Corona” – Provides information on prevention of COVID-19 to schoolchildren aged 6-16 years.
  • “No-to-sugar” – The application guides the users how to reduce consumption of sugar.
  • “Post-my-food” – Provides information on healthy eating.
  • “Step-to-health” – Fosters physical activity and provides concrete age-customized examples of exercises/activities that children can/should engage in.
  • “Special kids” – dedicated to children with special needs and their families
  • e-learning platform – Offers online training for teachers and health promotion specialities
  • Knowledge platform – Online library of all project products

The applications are available in play store and offer interactive learning games for children. Please click the link to download them: https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=5294719301500523471

The project does not encourage children to play long hours on the phone, but such games will be used as learning tools in school. The information centre environments can be used to by all children and teachers to organize the classes through digital tools. All applications are in Albanian language to approach children, parents and teachers in their mother language.

The application “Special Kids” is created to be dedicated to children with special needs and their families. It provides information on healthy eating, physical activity and COVID 19 in a language adapted to children with learning difficulties.

In addition, the e-learning platform was established and will enable the organization of courses for the teachers. All the training modules are available and the teachers together with school staff will be able to access them through their personal credentials that will be provided by the project at due time. The training modules are currently available in the platform and are undergoing the accreditation process by the Commission for Accreditation of Training Programs. After an administrated online test, the trainees will be able to download their certification.

As well as, there is built a digital messaging platform that will be used to inform all the users of the project applications or the webpage in case of emergencies. Furthermore, the Knowledge Portal is available and serves as an online library of all project products including research studies, information materials, brochures, leaflets, etc. It can be accessed by all teachers, health promotion specialists or communities at large to receive updated and professional information on health issues.
